D.A.R.E. America receives no federal funding and we depend on the generosity of concerned citizens such as yourself. We appreciate your support. Your participation allows you the opportunity to win cash prizes while supporting the following D.A.R.E. activities.
- Placing highly trained police officers in 10,000 communities across America to provide our children life-saving information while teaching good decision-making skills.
- Providing a curriculum that is evidence-based and recognized by SAMHSA and listed on NREPP.
- Constantly developing new science and research-based supplemental lessons and activities to add to our existing supplemental lessons on OTC/ Prescription Drug Abuse, Methamphetamine, Bullying, Gangs, and Internet Safety.
Expansion of our D.A.R.E. Community Programs is designed to stimulate and motivate families to take a more active role in the prevention of substance abuse and violence.
D.A.R.E. to KARE Community Program
We have independent programs, the D.A.R.E. Toy Program, the D.A.R.E. Homeless Program, and D.A.R.E. All proceeds raised go back to the D.A.R.E. America.
Here is how the programs work:
D.A.R.E. Toy Program– After shopping and outside of a retail location, customers are provided the opportunity to purchase toys which the customers can keep or donate. Toys donated are then given to children’s hospitals and youth services organizations in the area. As an example, toys donated in Northern California are being donated to the Oakland Children’s Hospital while n Arizona toys are being donated to the Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
D.A.R.E. Homeless Program– After shopping and outside of a retail location, customers are provided the opportunity to purchase Homeless KARE Kits that include basic toiletries and other supplies which are then given to homeless shelters and support centers.
Our focus has always been and will always be protecting children and improving communities. The D.A.R.E. to KARE Community Program is a natural extension of our efforts to protect children while also helping the larger community. All of us from D.A.R.E. and the law enforcement community appreciate your continued support.
Once again, thank you for your support
